While Jack Dorsey gave 14 Bitcoins (~$250,000 USD) to the Fiatjaf, there is no company funding Nostr. So far it's been a labor of love for the most part. Because it's an open protocol one of the worries is that a large corporation will try to dominate Nostr and ruin the protocol by introducing non-standard, proprietary features. But there's nothing inherently corporate about Nostr.
